Onondaga Community College’s eye-catching learning spaces was recognized recently for its outstanding work. Holt Architects received an award from the Organization of the American Institute of Architects for its innovate redesign of a classroom in Ferrante Hall. Professor Furney said, “We want to have classrooms and work-spaces which encourage more than just sitting in a row and staring at the professor the whole time. Stonybrook’s Active Learning Classroom

Frey Hall 119 is an active learning classroom. It has 32 work stations, that can hold 6 students each. Each station has a Dell computer, 42″ 4K monitor, mouse and keyboard. Students and faculty can also share content throughout the room, using the Mirror 360 app, from the work station or their own personal device. SUNY Geneseo’s Synchronous Video Conference Classroom

Recently, SUNY Geneseo was tasked to renovate an existing classroom with equipment for web based video conferencing in the Summer of 2017. Specifically there would be Foreign Language classes shared between Brockport, MCC and Geneseo (as part of the Critical Language Consortium). MCC had Pro licensing for Zoom, and the first version of the equipment list was based on the “recommended hardware” page on the Zoom web site.
